I’ll never forget how it felt laying on my stomach and peering over the edge of magnificent Alamere Falls! We scaled down the side of the slate wall leading down to the beach where the waterfall poured onto the sand… and stayed on the trail until the crowds disappeared and the evening fog blanket and darkness surrounded us… walking in the rain with the sounds of ocean waves crashing against the shore.

On the way home we visited fields of windmills and found a place where the stars were so bright and plentiful – I didn’t even know there were so many stars!! We soaked it all in, knowing there was no way to adequately capture the beauty that we were witnessing except in our hearts and memories.
